Complete Motorsport Solutions took both Michiel Smits Lola T70 MKI SL70-12 and Mike Whitakers Lola T70 MKII SL71-48 to the 75th Members Meeting at Goodwood. Michiel Smits qualified in the Surtees Trophy an outstanding 5th / 26, with a best time of 1:22.248 and a gap of 0.365 seconds between him and the pole setting car.With lots of attention on Michiel and his T70 all weekend, all eyes where on him for the race. After an amazing qualifying session on the Saturday the Surtees Trophy Race was scheduled for the last race on Sunday.After losing places at the start, Michiel began to make up the places the had been lost, but at the end of the first lap the car had a mechanical problem causing Michiel to spin and touch a wall this lead to some broken front body work, after spinning Michiel was unable to get back to his original grid position before the end of the race, but still made up an incredible seven places. The race was called to an end early due to lack of light. Michiel finished: 16th / 19.Goodwood invited Mike Whitaker to the 75th Members Meeting for Lord March to drive his T70 in a demonstration before the Surtees Trophy Race as a tribute to John Surtees life. Mike Whitakers Lola T70 will next be out on Thursday 23rd March for the Silverstone Media Day.
